Introduction Workshop with Jabulani Dhlamini, Thandile Zwelibanzi, Tshepiso Mazibuko and Sibusiso Bheka

Thelezini, Nquthu, KwaZulu-Natal | 27 June – 08 July 2022

This week marked the start of a two-week workshop led by the Of Soul and Joy photography team in the rural community of Thelezini, Nquthu. The program is hosted at Mathukulula Secondary School and is designed to introduce children and teenagers—many of whom have little or no access to art education—to the fundamentals of photography. The workshop aims to spark creativity, equip participants with artistic skills, and nurture a deeper appreciation for photography as a positive and empowering form of expression. Thelezini, situated near Telezeni in the uMzinyathi District Municipality of KwaZulu-Natal, lies roughly midway between Johannesburg and Durban, about 400 km from each city.
